2020 Summer Intern - Marketing

Position Summary:

MedThink transforms communications that make a difference in the lives of patients. Our subsidiary agencies deliver solutions that empower pharma, biotech, and medical device companies to rise above their current challenges. We are moving minds, moving markets, and moving medicine.

As part of the New Business team, the Marketing Intern supports the execution of marketing and promotional activities for MedThink Communications and MedThink SciCom through print, digital, and other channels. This includes assisting in marketing and promotional activities, executing social media outreach, and undertaking competitor research. Other potential projects include exposure to email marketing, assistance with marketing events, graphic design opportunities, and possible video project support.

Position Responsibilities:

Demonstrates behavior expected of a professional member of the organization, including but not limited to:

Assist with digital outreach:

  • Develop social media content
  • Execute outreach using a variety of platforms
  • Develop graphic assets to share on social media
  • Assist with execution of biweekly e-newsletter
  • Develop blog topic recommendations and content

Assist with ongoing new business outreach:

  • Support development of client success case studies
  • Support maintenance of proposal library and RFI databases
  • Support marketing automation activities as needed

Conduct general tasks:

  • Carry out industry and competitor research
  • Assist with event marketing activities
  • Attend team meetings and learn about working within an agency setting

Position Requirements:


  • Actively pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or related field
  • Rising Juniors and Seniors preferred
  • Previous internship experience preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership experience


  • Education: At least 3 years completed towards a degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, Journalism, or English preferred
  • Experience: Experience working in marketing or within healthcare field preferred
  • Must be available 40 hours per week, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
  • Minimal flexibility around the 12 week program, from May 18 – August 7

Please note: we do not offer housing support for out-of-state interns.


Talent & Knack:

The candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal communication and ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with corporate social media outreach preferred (primarily Twitter and LinkedIn)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Previous marketing experience preferred
  • Familiarity with marketing best practices and techniques preferred
  • Basic HTML skills preferred
  • Graphic design experience in Canva or Adobe Creative Suite a plus
